Dear Friends,

It's been way too long.  Ever been on a long, exciting trip and realized midway through it that you never sent a postcard to your friends and family?  That's what it's been like for Project Joy.  So many exciting things have happened in the last couple of years and it's high time we catch you up on it all!  Project Joy is on the move.  We are implementing a strong plan to make our country (and beyond) a more joyful and playful place for children to grow.  The idea of a more playful world might seem a bit trivial at first, but when you consider that playfulness can only occur in children who feel safe, loved, creative, confident, and passionate - it's easy to see how playfulness has the power to help all children realize their true potential and ultimately transform the world we live in.

From here on, we will be sending out frequent newsletters (frequent enough to keep you informed, but not so frequent that we overwhelm your inbox) to keep you posted on everything and anything Project Joy related.  Thank you for being part of the Project Joy family and for answering the call to help.  Without your support, Project Joy would be left with only good intentions.

Hope to see you on the 7th -

Steve

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better!  Following last July's Watermelon Festival on the Boston Common - an amazing success that drew over 20,000 folks for a glorious day of great music and dancing, fun backyard games, and plenty of good food and juicy melon - Life is good and Project Joy are throwing a party at the oldest ballpark in the country.  On July 7th, (what could be a luckier date than 7/7/07 - with the minor exception of 7/7/77), LIG and PJ will invite folks to Life is good at Fenway Park to listen to great live music, play tons of quirky baseball themed games, and eat the very best in succulent ball park cuisine.  In addition, 100 lucky adults will compete in front of the Fenway Faithful for the coveted title of World's Greatest Backyard Athlete. Life is good's goal is for the event to raise over 1 million dollars to be shared between Project Joy and the Red Sox Foundation.  Tickets are available now and can be purchased at Redsox.com.

Project Joy shines on American Idol
There is no doubt that Randy, Paula and Simon would have panned Project Joy founder Steve Gross' rendition of Living La Vida Loca (Randy would have called it "Pitchy", Paula would have said that he "made it his own", and Simon would have called it "Cabaret") however they had nothing but high acalades for Project Joy's work along the Gulf Coast of New Orleans.  Project Joy has provided training to Save the Children in New Orleans to help their staff bring playfulness and joy to children throughout the region.
